Aims & Objectives
Zest Quest Asia is designed to raise the profile of Asian cuisine and cookery as a future career for budding chefs in Britain.
When it was founded in 2013, Zest Quest Asia was considered a ground-breaking step towards battling the growing skills shortages in the UK’s professional Asian kitchens.
An ultimate goal for Zest Quest Asia is the enshrinement of classical Asian cookery in the school and college curriculum.
THE COMPETITION
So far, 11 teams of 3 students and their inspiring tutors have won the Zest Quest Asia title, beating other finalists at a cook off and knowledge presentation.
THE MAIN PRIZE
Each year the Zest Quest Asia champion enjoys a once-in-a-lifetime, money-can’t-buy trip to exciting Asian destinations. Zest Quest Asia’s champions have visited New Delhi, Mumbai in India; Bangkok in Thailand; Colombo in Sri Lanka; Manila and Negros Occidental in the Philippines; and Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto in Japan.
