Zest Quest Asia was founded in 2013 by London-based restaurateurs Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala in
collaboration with the support of the Master Chefs of Great Britain. Undeterred by the coronavirus
pandemic, Cyrus and Pervin launched 3 on-line spin-offs during 2020 and 2021, the last two sponsored
by Tilda and Panasonic, respectively. In 2022, Zest Quest Asia reverted to its original format, including a
live cook-off and knowledge-based presentation.

Cyrus Todiwala
OBE DL FIH
Born and raised in Bombay, Cyrus Todiwala is one of the UK’s most highly respected chefs. He is the author of seven cookbooks, including the best-selling Simple Spice Vegetarian, and appears regularly in the media. He is also widely recognised for his commitment to education and training, opening up his restaurants Café Spice Namaste, Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen and Mr Todiwala’s Petiscos to trainee chefs and receiving a prestigious CATEY (the hospitality industry ‘Oscars’) for his efforts. A Fellow of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, he has actively supported the academy’s Chefs-Adopt-A-School Programme and has recently launched the Mr Todiwala’s Academy in Café Spice Namaste’s new home in Royal Albert Wharf, the Docklands.
An Ocean Ambassador for the Marine Conservation Society and Patron of the British Lop Pig Society, Cyrus is a keen environmentalist and advocate of sustainability, ensuring that Zest Quest Asia reflects this lifelong ethos.

Pervin Todiwala
As Operations Director of Café Spice Namaste and Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen, and partner of Mr Todiwala’s Petiscos, Pervin is steeped in the restaurant business. A trained and qualified chef, Pervin, like Cyrus, is a Parsee, and born and bred in Bombay. In 2020, she received the Inspirational Woman Award at the 16th annual British Curry Awards. She is also a recipient of a TIAW World of Difference Award in recognition of her work to showcase the economic empowerment of women. Pervin is a founding member of the Company of Entrepreneurs
